Overview

The International Supply Chain Study Tour aims to provide supply chain students, researchers, and practitioners with a unique opportunity to explore and learn from best practices in supply chain management across different regions of the world. This immersive experience will include visits to leading companies, academic institutions, and industry hubs renowned for their innovative approaches to supply chain optimization, sustainability, and resilience. Participants will engage with industry experts, academic researchers, and supply chain professionals to gain insights, exchange knowledge, and build networks that can drive positive change in their respective organizations and industries. The duration for the study tour is eight (8) days including flight, accommodation, and transport. Each day you will take part in formal class sessions and group discussions with a company site visit in the afternoon.

Objectives:

  1. To visit the International University and understand the teaching methodology, infrastructure features, levels of students, and cultural aspects in the country
  2. Gain firsthand exposure to best practices and cutting-edge technologies in supply chain management across diverse industries and geographical locations.
  3. Explore innovative solutions and strategies for enhancing supply chain efficiency, sustainability, and resilience in response to global challenges and disruptions.
  4. Understand the cultural, regulatory, and logistical factors influencing supply chain operations in different regions and industries.
  5. Foster cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants, industry experts, and academic researchers to address common supply chain challenges and drive collective innovation.
  6. Inspire participants to identify opportunities for applying lessons learned and implementing innovative approaches within their organizations or industries to achieve competitive advantage and sustainable growth.

Proposed Itinerary

Day 1-2: visit academic and research institutes

  • Welcome session and overview of the study tour objectives
  • Visits to leading supply chain innovation centers, research institutes, and academic institutions
  • Presentations and discussions on emerging trends, technologies, and research initiatives shaping the future of supply chain management

Day 3-5: Industry and Best Practice Visits

  • Company visits to renowned global leaders in supply chain excellence across various sectors (e.g., technology, manufacturing, retail, logistics)
  • Guided tours of state-of-the-art facilities and operations, with presentations by supply chain experts and senior executives
  • Workshops and interactive sessions focusing on specific supply chain challenges, solutions, and case studies

Day 6-7: Cultural Exchange and Networking

  • Cultural and sightseeing activities to experience the local culture and heritage of the host country
  • Networking receptions, dinners, and social events to foster connections and exchange insights with fellow participants, industry professionals, and thought leaders

Day 8: Reflection and Action Planning
