Board of Directors

AISCR is governed by a Board of Directors, composed of no more than 5 members. The Board of Directors is responsible for developing strategic plan, fundraising strategy, and organization’s performance.  The Board of Directors performs its duties through committees that include, but are not limited to:  Fundraising, Strategic Partnership, and Programs as described in the institute’s Bylaws.

Dr Norman Lamprecht

Dr Norman Lamprecht

Dr. Norman Lamprecht holds the position of Executive Manager: Trade, Exports and Research at naamsa The Automotive Business Council and is also Director of the Automotive Industry Export Council (AIEC) since 2005. Prior to joining naamsa, he held positions at Trade and Investment South Africa (TISA) as well as the Board of Tariffs and Trade. He has 32 years extensive knowledge and experience of the national and international automotive industry. He has established the AIEC, which operates from the NAAMSA offices, as the acknowledged source of automotive trade data information to the industry as contained in his annual Automotive Export Manual publications. He has been the author of fifteen annual publications to date. He is also publishing various other research reports on behalf of the AIEC annually. As project leader he has represented the automotive industry on behalf of the AIEC in National Pavilions, trade missions and conferences in various countries abroad. He obtained his B.Com (1985) and B.Com (Hons) (1986) at the University of Stellenbosch. In 2006 he obtained his M.Com (cum laude) at the University of South Africa (UNISA) and in 2009 his D.Com (Business Management) at UNISA. Both his Masters and Doctoral studies were in the automotive field. Since 2011 he is contracted at UNISA as the external promoter for masters and doctoral students in the automotive field at the Department of Business Management. He also serves on the UNISA Business Management Advisory Committee. He is married to Benda and has a daughter, Liezl-Mari.

Admire Muchenje

Mr. Admire Chen

Mr. Admire is Certified Chartered Accountant and a holder of Bsc Honours in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes (United Kingdom). Admire has more than eighteen years working experience (regionally and internationally) in the field of both accounting and auditing.

Admire has had experience from a wide diverse background of sectors including manufacturing, oil and gas, service, public and private sector and retail to mention just but a few.

Admire auditing career culminated in me holding the position of Group Assistant Audit manager in Qatar, and accounting career with holding the position of Group Finance Manager. In South Africa he has been a member of the South Africa Auditor General, on wide ranging auditing assignments for various departments across South Africa.

His skills set is wide-ranging, focusing on financial reporting, management Accounting, Internal and External Auditing for both public and private sectors.

Evelyn Sam

Mrs. Evelyn Sam (FCIPS) MBA

Evelyn Sam has over 24 years of consolidated Supply Chain Management experience across different industries in the United Kingdom and in Ghana. She has gleaned leadership experience from multinational environments such as the Retail, FMCG & Telco industries with expertise in merged organizations.
She joined Airteltigo Ghana (Airtel Ltd -telecom operator) as the Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) in 2018 shortly after the Airtel-Tigo merger. Prior to this, she worked as the Head of Supply chain in MTN Ghana Ltd (Scancom) from 2009 to 2018, and from 1998-2008 as the Company Planning Manager for Unilever Ghana.
Evelyn has built an industry-wide reputation for operational excellence and has been repeatedly recognized for achievements in Supply Chain Management. She won awards for the Industry Personality of the year at the 1st and 2nd Ghana Procurement & Supply Chain Awards. Additionally, from 2018 to 2019, Evelyn was recognized as one of Ghana’s Top 20 Procurement leaders. In 2019, she served as a SCM Judge at the CIPS Middle East SCM Awards in Dubai.

Evelyn frequently speaks at Supply Chain events to impart knowledge to the next generation of Supply Chain professionals. She coaches and counsels teams by championing ethical disciplines. Evelyn is a Chartered member and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement (CIPS), and an MBA holder in Leadership & Sustainability from the University of Cumbria, UK.

Prof Marcus Ambe

Prof Marcus Ambe

Prof. Marcus Ambe is an esteemed Procurement and Supply Chain Management Professional. Marcus is a Professor at the Department of Applied Management, School of Public and Operations Management, University of South Africa (Unisa). He is the Chairperson of the Public Tender Committee at Unisa; Deputy Chairperson: Technical Standards and Competencies, Interim SCM Council, South Africa; President of African Institute for Supply Chain Research; Advisory Committee Member for Smart Procurement World; Chairperson of the Supply Chain Management Research Group (Unisa); Chairperson of Masters and Doctoral (M&D) Research Colloquium committee as well as Masters & Doctoral Coordinator for Supply Chain Management at Department of Applied Management. Prof Marcus Ambe served as the Chair of Department for Applied Management in 2016. He has published extensively and presented numerous papers in local and internal conferences. Marcus provides Supply Chain Management consulting and advisory services to leading organisations and institutions such as the National Treasury; Limpopo Provincial Government; National School of Government (South Africa). He has executed numerous projects in the area of Strategic Procurement Planning, Procurement Management, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Collaborative Procurement, Total Cost of Ownership, Procurement Analytics, Sustainable Procurement, Innovative Procurement as well as Ethics and Good Governance in Supply Chain Management.

Nat Maelane

Nat Maelane

Nat Maelane is a seasoned supply chain leader with 41 years’ experience in both multisector private industries and diverse SOE’s environments. During his career, he has a developed and implemented supply chain best practices, which have contributed to the competitiveness and sustainability of the entities he worked for.

He has been very active in professionalization of supply chain practitioners. He was a founding member of Institute of Purchasing South Africa (IPSA) and subsequent Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPSSA). During his tenure at CIPSSA, from 2009 to 2017, he was both a Board Member and Chairperson of the BBBEE Education Trust.

Nat has completed senior leadership programs at Michigan State University (USA), London Business School (UK) and INSEAD University (France). He holds MDP Diploma (UNISA SBL) and MSc degree (Liverpool University (UK)

He served on Boards of Procurement Best Practices (Pty) Ltd, Sappi SA, CIPSSA   and SAPICS.

He is currently the Chief Procurement Officer and EXCO member of Sappi SA, Board Member of Andzani Ventures (Pty) Ltd, PAMDEV NPC (T/A Fibrecircle)  and   Supply Chain Council.

Dr Rebecca Setino

Country Head: Procurement and Supply Chain at Bombardier South Africa

Dr Rebecca Setino (MCIPS) is the Country Head: Procurement and Supply Chain at Bombardier South Africa. Prior to this she was a Chief Procurement Officer at SAMSA prior to that she held other senior roles in supply chain at various state-owned entities and municipalities. Ms Setino holds a National Diploma (Logistics)(UJ), BTech (Logistics)(UNISA), Post Graduate Diploma in interpretation & drafting of contracts (UJ), BCom (Business Management) (UNIVEN), BCom (Hons) (Business Management)(UL), Master’s in Development Finance (University of Stellenbosch) and  PHD in Business Management specializing in Supply Chain Management from UNISA. She has over 15 years’ experience in Public Sector Supply Chain Management, of which approximately 8 years were in rail industry. Her interests in Supply chain are mainly in optimisation of Supply Chain processes, innovative inventory management solutions and enterprise and supplier development. She has been actively involved in promoting supply chain through round tables discussions and conferences. She has presented SCM papers in local and international supply chain management conferences.

Dr Setino is passionate about people development and education, as a result serves at an Academic Advisory  Board Member of University  of South Africa: Department of Supply  Chain Management and  at Tshwane  University of  Technology: Department  of Transport and Logistics Management. She also serves as a member of the Tender Committee of the Tshwane University of Technology Council. Between 2017-2018, Dr Setino also served as secretariat of the CIPS Gauteng Branch Committee. At least once a year she presents supply chain motivational talks at Vaal University of Technology and Tshwane University of Technology. She has recently been appointed into the Advisory Board of African Institute of Supply Chain Research (AISCR).

Andile

Mr Andile Mashele

Chairperson: Advisory Board

Head of Strategy, Risk and Performance, AIDC

Andile Mashele combines an academic and a highly experienced practitioner’s approach to Supply Chain Management. Mr. Mashele also serves as the Head of Strategy, Risk and Performance tracking at the AIDC. He has experience in all aspects of Supply Chain Management, from policy management and transacting. Mr. Mashele has been Head of Transversal Supply Chain Management at the Provincial Treasury in Limpopo. He has been labeled a ‘Deep Strategist’ with excellence in Strategy award from Durham Business School. Mr. Mashele has a strong, rigorous public sector administrative approach, with advance knowledge of the public sector systems and commodity strategies. He has served on the Board of the Limpopo Gambling Board. Mr. Mashele worked for Eskom Enterprise as Finance Manager in Mega projects and later worked as the Financial Analyst at the Development Bank of Southern Africa. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Municipalities. He worked as Tax Auditor at the South African Revenue Service before he left to join RA Park and Associates as Head of Income Tax business unit. He has Accounting, Tax and Business Administration degrees from UNISA and Durham Business School.

Mr Vule Nemukula

Mr Vule Nemukula is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Oreport, bulk commodities trading company. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the field of Procurement & Supply Chain Management. He is a cross-industry value creation and Supply Chain Management transformation specialist with a clear focus on linking strategy with operations excellence and execution. He has worked extensively with large South African and international organisations in FMCG, Logistics and Transport, Energy, Mining, and Telecommunications sectors.

Mr Nemukula has extensive experience in Supply Chain Management and held senior positions within the discipline for top organisations in the private and public sectors. In these roles he was responsible for developing and implementing Procurement & Supply Chain Management strategies and policies that realised saving in excess of R7.5 billion. He led different teams that transformed the Procurement & Supply Chain Management function within the utility and telecommunication sectors into a world class proactive strategic sourcing function that was very responsive to the requirements of the end users. He introduced Procurement Governance Policies and processes which contributed significantly in dealing with unethical conduct within the procurement process. Vule served on the board of Pikitup Johannesburg (Pty) Ltd where he was a Chairperson of the Audit Committee and Finance Committee. He is currently a board member at Oreport, Wuxitech where he is a Chairman and Bona Lesedi Disability Centre. He is also a Supply Chain Advisor of the Tshwane University of Technology.
