GOVERNANCE AND LEADERSHIP OF THE RESEARCH INSTITUTE

The governance and leadership of AISCR will be comprised of an Advisory Board, Executive Management and Working Committees.

Advisory Board (7 Members)

A volunteer advisory board governs AISCR. Board members are professionals from academia and industry who volunteer their services to set policy and oversee the work at AISCR. The role of the advisory board is to advice AISCR in support of the development of strategy, policy and activity. This will include the identification of future priorities, the development of clear plans of action to address priorities, integrating activity across research, data, skills and partnerships. (See terms of Reference for Advisory Board members).

 

Members of the Advisory Board are appointed by nomination. The board shall be composed of seven (7) voting members as well as two non-voting members (Chief Operating Officer and Administrative Officer). The portfolios of the Advisory Board members shall be comprised of:

Executive Management

Dedicated individuals on a volunteering basis will manage AISCR operations until such time that the institute can sustain its financial obligations. The proposed executive management committee will include:

  • President and Chief Executive Officer;
  • Chief Operating Officer;
  • Administrative Officer;
  • Finance and Membership Executive;
  • Research Executive;
  • Head: Publications;
  • Head: Educational Programmes; and
  • Marketing and Communication Coordinator.

Working Committees 

The working committees will provide strategic support and leadership to the activities of the institute. The working committees will be on a voluntary basis until such time that the institute can sustain its financial obligations. The proposed working committees are as follows:

  • Research Committee;
  • Publications Committee;
  • Ethics and Integrity Committee;
  • Educational Programmes Committee;
  • Conference and Events Committee; and
  • Research Awards Committee.

RESEARCH EXPERTS

AISCR will make use of professional supply chain experts to conduct its activities. Experts will be from academia and industry with vast experience in supply chain management. Experts will be sought for different projects across industries and countries from procurement, logistics, transport, operations and production management.

CAREERS/OPPORTUNITIES

AISCR provide opportunities for supply chain researchers as follows:

  • Part time researchers: AISCR provides opportunities to researchers as when they are available. We accepts resumes from interested researchers on an ongoing basis, and keeps them on file.
  • Graduate/Student internships: AISCR accepts graduate student interns with an interest in supply chain research.
  • Volunteer positions: Volunteer opportunities exist within both the research and administrative teams at AISCR.
  • Field workers: AISCR provide opportunities for field researchers.
