
Prof. Eneke Tambe Bechem

Prof. Eneke Tambe Bechem is the Registrar of the University of Buea. A Professor of Plant Biotechnology, Prof. Eneke is widely recognized for her expertise in plant–microbe interactions and their critical role in sustaining biodiversity, particularly within tropical forest ecosystems. Her research advances understanding of ecological resilience, species preservation, and the scientific domestication of endangered plant species. By integrating molecular biology, environmental sustainability, and biodiversity conservation, her work contributes to both scientific innovation and sustainable development.
Beyond her scholarly contributions, she has represented the University of Buea in key national and international academic engagements, including participation in the 2020–2021 Cohort Graduation Ceremony of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Cameroon.
As Registrar, she provides strategic leadership in academic administration, institutional governance, and regulatory compliance. Her leadership is characterized by intellectual rigor, institutional accountability, and a sustained commitment to excellence and inclusive advancement.
