Introducing the New AISCR Board Chair
Celebrating Excellence in Leadership — The Board’s Choice
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Hon. Mrs. Dagmawit Moges Bekele as the new Board Chair of the African Institute for Supply Chain Research (AISCR), following the Board Meeting held on Saturday, 7 February 2026.
A distinguished public leader with over two decades of service, Mrs. Bekele has dedicated her career to advancing Africa’s development and strengthening institutions. She currently serves as Director of the Peace Fund Secretariat at the African Union, providing strategic and financial oversight for continental peace financing, with a strong emphasis on governance, accountability, sustainability, and Africa-led priorities.
She previously served as Ethiopia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics, leading landmark reforms in transport and logistics related policies and sustainable mobility. Mrs. Bekele’s leadership has earned wide recognition. She has been named among the Top 100 Most Influential Women in African Supply Chain, featured on the Power List of 50 Women of African Descent in Diplomacy, and honored as one of the 21 Heroes of 2021 for her contributions to urban mobility and sustainable transport. She is also a member of the Amujae Leaders Program of the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development.
As AISCR continues its mission to bridge research, policy, and practice across Africa’s supply chains, Mrs. Bekele’s appointment marks a new chapter of strengthened governance, strategic leadership, and continental impact.
