Summit Theme:
Redefining Supply Chain Management in the New Normal
Covid-19 has upended global supply chains, exposing critical gaps, disruptions and vulnerabilities. Many organisations scrambled to gauge the financial risks to their suppliers and their ability to navigate new restrictions. So often underutilised and undervalued by organisations they support, supply chain has swiftly emerged as an essential enabler of strategic agility in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. The procurement and supply chain function touches upon nearly every aspect of an organisational performance. However, many leaders failed to grasp its importance and accord sourcing leaders with the power and prestige of other C-suite positions. That notwithstanding, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic represents turning points, exposing the inflexibility and vulnerability built into many procurement and supply chain models. The flaws within the existing supply chain strategies have been exposed to the extent that it is time to generate “out-of-the box” solutions for the “new normal”. Many supply chains have responded to this disruption by diversifying their product portfolio, making new products based on existing technology and knowledge.
This summit therefore seeks to discuss best practices and strategic transition employed by organisations as they strive to bring about a paradigm shift in their supply chains in the New Normal. We look forward to a full day of interactive live-streamed discussions by influential minds on supply chain in the continent.
